Christine Cudmore
Children’s Centre Manager
I am a mum of three children; two are currently attending secondary school and my eldest is currently training to be a Specialist Chef.
I worked as a registered childminder for 12 years; I then worked in my children’s local primary school as a volunteer and then as a qualified Teaching Assistant.
I have also worked in a secondary school supporting and encouraging children with disabilities to be able to access main stream education. I then worked for three and half years for the Behaviour Education Support Team as a Family Support Worker during this time I completed my BA Hons. This post required me to be seconded out of Social Services in to supporting seven Primary schools in the London Borough of Hounslow.
I have now been setting up and managing the Children’s Centre since February 2008.
Jean Harris
Outreach Worker
Jean is a qualified Nurse with 18 years experience of working within Community Services in the local area, including School Nursing, District Nursing, Family Planning and Health Promotion. Jean is a single parent with a 16 year old daughter.
Georgina Holloway
Outreach Worker
Georgina Holloway is our Outreach Worker based at Kenyngton Manor, she currently runs Monday Monkeys at the Ex-Servicemen’s Club in Sunbury, Fun Fridays Play and Stay. Georgina also supports our Childminders group and runs Baby Signing on a rolling programme. Georgina has management and childminding experience and has two lovely children, both at Primary school.
Kai Keers
Outreach Worker & Administrative Support
Kai has been a Surrey resident for 21 years; previously I spent my childhood in North West London. Kai has an advanced foundation degree in graphic design and I obtained a BA (HONS) degree in Humanities with Art History when I became a mature student through The Open University whilst having a young family of four. Kai’s professional experiences have ranged from catering to administration to supervising/training small teams to sales to a play co-ordinator for pre-school children. Kai has completed various voluntary works at nurseries, play centres, infant and junior schools, additionally Kai has organised various fund raising events; all ranging over nine years. Kai brings diverse personal and professional experiences to expand this friendly, knowledgeable team to provide secure environment for all to access.
The Role of our Outreach Workers
Our role within the Children’s Centre is to support families and Children accessing the children’s centre and to support families in the home environment; To provide developmentally appropriate activities and to encourage children to engage and learn through play; To offer advice and encouragement on all aspects of child development and family life, and to work with other professionals to maximise access to appropriate services and provide benefits to all local families.
Stacy Corke
Admin/Advice and Clerical Receptionist at Spelthorne Infant’s Centre
Stacy is a mother to two children and grandmother. She has lived locally all her life so knows the area very well.
Stacy’s background is in administration having previously worked in Social Services and has experiance of working in the Voluntary sector as a support worker for a local HIV/Aids charity. Prior to joining us at The Sun Ash Stacy worked at The Haven Children’s Centre in Staines in a similar role.. In her spare time she is a trustee and volunteer for a new non profit organisation.
Rumana Begum
Admin/Advice and Clerical Receptionist at Kenyngton Manor’s Centre
Rumana moved from Manchester to London in 2004 and is a mother to two boys aged five and two.
Prior to moving to London Rumana held various posts within the local community and education authority. More specifically, Rumana worked for a regeneration project as a Community Development Worker after which she managed a literacy project aimed at young people with learning difficulties. Rumana has experience of working in the voluntary sector too where she worked as a Development worker for The Prince’s Trust specialising in working with youth offenders and young people in care. Rumana also worked as an Education Development Officer trying to make learning more accessible for adult learners. Her last job was working for Social Services Race Equality and Diversity Team which helped her to gain an insight into issues which affect service users. Rumana is looking forward to welcoming you to the Children’s Centre and supporting you with advice and information on services for either yourself and/or your family.
